Gwyndy dispersal peaks at 3400gns

The dispersal sale of the Gwyndy flock of Charollais on behalf of Colin and Ros Bowen, Pembrokeshire, took place at Hereford Livestock Market last Saturday 8th June with a packed ringside of prospective purchasers. 

Topping the day’s trade at 3400gns was Gwyndy 22XPR08485, an aged ewe by Robleston Vrondi. Out of a homebred Wernfawr Rokocoko daughter, she went home to Tregare, Monmouthshire, with Messrs Heath and Coles.

Next up at 2200gns was another aged ewe, this time Gwyndy 21XPR08229, who was the pick of Pembrokeshire-based R G and R A Jones and Son for their Robleston flock. This one is out of a homebred Rhaedr Rocket daughter and sired by Wernfawr Vinnie who goes back to Bronwydd Tomahawk.

Older ewes continued to sell for good money when Gwyndy 22XPR08444 reached 1100gns. Sired by Boyo Vancouver, himself a son of Ffrwd Top Notch, and out of a homebred Rhaeadr Rocket daughter, she caught the eye of C Lewis, Solva, Pembrokeshire. 

Following at 950gns was Gwyndy 21XPR08172, who is out of a homebred Wernfawr Rokocoko daughter and sired by Wernfawr Vinnie. She heads home with previous buyers R G and R A Jones and Son. 

Shearling ewes topped at 1800gns for the first one in the ring, Gwyndy 23XPR08768. Sired by Robleston Vrondi and out of a homebred Wedderburn Rogue daughter, she was knocked down to previous buyer C Lewis. 

Next up was Gwyndy 23XPR08752 who saw the hammer fall at 1000gns. Another daughter of Robleston Vrondi and out of a homebred Padest Sir Lancelot daughter, she was secured by previous buyers Heath and Coles.

At 750gns was Gwyndy 23XPR08809. Sired by Robleston Vrondi and out of a homebred Padest Sir Lancelot daughter, she was the pick of Monmouthshire-based, B B Farms. 

Next trading at 700gns was Gwyndy 23XPR08812. Sired by Wernfawr Vinnie and out of a homebred Wedderburn Rogue daughter, she heads home with Emyr Hughes, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, for his Bronwydd flock. 

Ewe lambs peaked at 920gns for Gwyndy 23XPR09161 who is by Robleston Vrondi and out of a homebred Wernfawr Vinnie daughter. Securing this one was previous buyer C Lewis. 

Other ewe lambs hit 550gns for Gwyndy 24XPR09181. Out of a homebred Wernfawr Vinnie daughter and sired by Boyo Vancouver she was the pick of the pen for James Danforth, Tadcaster, for his Lodgehill flock.
